TietoEVRY has signed an agreement with a record-size consortium of seven hospital districts in Finland on the development of the Lifecare patient information system for specialised and primary healthcare. The new model for joint development brings the hospital districts synergy benefits and enables faster system development.
The hospital districts of Etelä-Karjala, Etelä-Pohjanmaa, Kanta-Häme, Keski-Pohjanmaa, Kymenlaakso, Päijät-Häme and Satakunta are participating in the joint development project. These districts collectively serve some 1.2 million citizens.
“We are very happy about this new model for development co-operation. The aim is to carefully listen to the needs of users and make the patient information system even more user-friendly, efficient and secure,” says Ari Pätsi, CIO at the Hospital District of Etelä-Pohjanmaa.
“We believe a co-operation model that offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to influence the content of the solutions and services to be developed will help to make day-to-day work within healthcare units much smoother,” says Seppo Ranta, CEO at the Hospital District of Kanta-Häme.
Joint development strengthens the stability and predictability of systems. Harmonizing software environments and releases brings synergy benefits in both procurement and deployments, while also enabling cost savings.

The agreements are included in TietoEVRY’s existing fame agreements with the hospital districts.
