Tietoevry is identified as an Example Regional Cloud Provider in Europe for its Sovereign Cloud Solution according to Gartner® Market Guide for Speciality Cloud Providers.
Numerous sovereign cloud initiatives have arisen in response to growing regulated industries, notably in Europe, concerning the sovereignty of data, workloads, and infrastructure, enhancing Europe's digital sovereignty for cloud infrastructure due to tightening privacy and data protection regulations.
In Gartner’s latest Market Guide for Specialty Cloud Providers, published 25th July, they address key findings:
■ Global hyperscale cloud infrastructure and platform service providers do not typically offer services customized to specific geographic regions and cultures. They expect local customers to adopt a “one size fits all” approach to cloud computing.
■ The vast range of services available through the hyperscalers make their platforms difficult to navigate and master, and they can appear overwhelming to customers with specific, limited needs.
■ Customers that must comply with their country’s data privacy or residency laws can’t use public clouds in other geographic regions.
■ Organizations looking to adopt cloud computing at their network edge, or trying to modernize complex non-x86 workloads, often discover that the hyperscale cloud providers offer only a portion of the hardware, tools and application services they need.
■ Although customers often turn to specialty providers to lower costs, they must make up for a lack of capabilities (e.g., enhanced database and application platform services) by deploying and managing these services themselves.
■ Newer, cutting-edge CIPS services, such as serverless edge functions, are sometimes pioneered by a specialty provider before being adopted by the hyperscalers. These offerings are often immature and better suited to early adopters than mainstream enterprises.
