The challenge
Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden struggled to get a good overview of its department, and experienced a shortage of care units. As a result, they had problems prioritizing resources, which in turn risked leading to poor health among its staff and - in the worst of cases - a reduced patient safety.
The solution
DiViS was developed in a collaboration between Uppsala University Hospital and Tietoevry. The digital tool replaced the resource-intensive, manual care site coordination. DiViS is also used to provide a visualization of the flow of care and to guide the work on a departmental level. It was designed based on the hospital's current needs, but can easily be developed to adapt to future challenges.
DiViS retrieves data in real time from the medical record system and gives the care departments optimal conditions to coordinate and prioritize resources and activities. It also facilitates staff reporting and communication.
