“My journey with Tietoevry began while I was still a student,” Edyta recalls. “I was lucky enough to be offered an internship, which opened the door to my career in IT project management. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.” Ten years later, Edyta continues to relish the challenges and opportunities that her role offers, staying committed to her goals. The supportive culture and the chance to develop her skills have been crucial in her decision to grow her career with the company.
Starting as a Junior Test Engineer, Edyta progressed to Test Engineer, then Verification Project Manager, before stepping into her current role as Project Manager. Her journey exemplifies how Tietoevry values smart, dedicated work and a drive for personal development. What excites Edyta most about her role is the dynamic balance between technology and people. She enjoys the challenge of turning complex technical requirements into actionable plans while managing diverse teams to ensure everyone is aligned and motivated. “Seeing a project come to life from the initial planning stages through to execution is incredibly rewarding,” she says.
But Edyta’s ambitions don’t stop there. “I’ve set several goals for my career as an IT Project Manager,” she explains. “One of my main objectives is to enhance my leadership skills by managing larger, more complex projects that involve multiple teams across regions. I’m focusing on strengthening my leadership and communication abilities, particularly in managing cross-functional teams and navigating complex stakeholder relationships.” She also plans to pursue advanced certifications such as PMP or Agile Leadership to bolster her project management skills. Ultimately, she aspires to take on leadership roles where she can drive strategic initiatives and mentor emerging talent.
The women in Tietoevry’s automotive team in Poland are making a significant impact, and Edyta is one of the driving forces behind this dynamic group. She’s continually expanding her knowledge of automotive software development, particularly in embedded systems and Android Automotive, while staying on top of emerging technologies. “The automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation, and it’s essential to stay open to new ideas, technologies, and working methods,” she says.
What makes this easier for her is Tietoevry’s collaborative and innovative culture. “I appreciate the company’s commitment to continuous learning and development, which supports both personal and professional growth. Working in an international environment has been a huge benefit to my career, exposing me to different perspectives and practices,” she shares. “Collaborating with multicultural and international teams has taught me the importance of flexibility, open-mindedness, and effective communication across cultures.”
Edyta also praises the Scandinavian approach to work-life balance and the supportive community at Tietoevry. The company’s emphasis on employee well-being and flexibility has had a positive impact on her both professionally and personally. “I feel valued and motivated to contribute. My role as an IT Project Manager has taught me invaluable lessons in time management, problem-solving, and adaptability, which have also helped me become more organised in my personal life,” she says. “However, the demands of the job have also made me recognise the importance of setting boundaries to avoid burnout.”
To ensure a healthy work-life balance, Edyta makes a conscious effort to dedicate time to activities that recharge her, such as spending time with family and exercising. “Yoga, in particular, helps me stay calm under pressure, maintain focus, and approach challenges with a balanced mindset. I also prioritise clear communication with my team and stakeholders to manage expectations and avoid overcommitting.”
As a mother returning to work after maternity leave, inclusivity around parenthood is especially important to Edyta. She emphasises the value of having a supportive work environment that understands the challenges of balancing professional responsibilities with parenting. “I feel well-supported by Tietoevry in this regard. The company’s policies on parental leave and flexible working arrangements have made my transition back to work smoother. The understanding from management has been invaluable in helping me balance my roles as both a parent and a professional.”
The coming months will bring new challenges for the automotive team, but Edyta is excited and ready to tackle them head-on. It's clear that with her passion, resilience, and the support of Tietoevry’s inclusive and innovative culture, she will continue to drive success - both for herself and for her team.
